Sounds of the Stars

Tura and Greg Quicke present Sounds of the Stars, an immersive event featuring star-gazing and the sounds of Sonus.

Tura’s 2019 Sonus Tour brings together Indigenous musical icons Naomi Pigram and Mark Atkins, with a colourful ensemble of instrumentalists from around Australia. This is a program of original new music created in collaboration with some of Australia’s finest musicians, coming together for this tour  including cellist Judith Hamann, clarinetist Aviva Endean and flautist Tos Mahoney.

New songs, new works and new arrangements feature in a program grown out of these creative collaborations, reflecting the Kimberley communities and landscape traveled to.

In a world first, the Sonus Tour will collaborate with ABC ‘Star Man’ Greg Quicke in Broome, offering a chance for audiences to experience Greg’s stellar passion with a musical feast from the ensemble. With a growing national and international TV presence Greg will present a special version of his Broome Astronomy Experience exploring the cosmos using telescopes and lasers under “some of the best star-gazing skies on the planet.” This will be interspersed throughout Sonus music and premiere music created for the event.

Tickets on sale from Astro Tours.
